 We love that Fall 2009 doesn’t follow any one fashion trend across the board. Instead, each designer has interpreted the season in a unique way, amping up their creativity and points of view to reflect a new era. Whether their collections are somber, uplifting, over-the top indulgent or minimalistic, designers have each created distinct collections, mirroring their take on our new world.

 

For Fall 2009, Josie Natori wanted to reflect back to a time with simple feminine lines and classic silhouettes. The Victorians, known for their modesty, could barely expose an ankle. But under their layers of gowns, hoops and crinoline revealed corsets and garters. The hidden persona beneath their intricately layered wardrobe, plunging necklines and cinched waists, exposed their femininity. In spite of their strict etiquette, Victorian women had an indefinable quality. For Fall, Natori has channeled that attitude- femininity with an air of mystery, where intricate details reveal themselves in unexpected places.
