School is Back in Session

I always enjoy getting involved with a college that fosters talent, and my involvement with FIT goes back for ages. My husband Kenneth and I sponsor a tee in their Annual Golf Classic which helps to raise money for scholarships and students in need of financial aid. I adore Dr. Joyce Brown, the president of FIT, and deeply respect her commitment to a school that prepares students for careers in a variety of fields. Many of Natori’s employees and interns have come from FIT, and I couldn’t be happier!

The talent that FIT produces is anything but uniform- they churn out a unique mix of top designers, stylist and influencers into the fashion industry year after year. FIT alumni pop up everywhere- from bridal (Amsale) and ready-to-wear (Calvin Klein) to the atelier (Carolina Herrera) and the CFDA (Michael Kors). More recently, FIT alums have been showing up in politics. From Michelle Obama’s Isabel Toledo lemongrass colored inauguration day ensemble to Jill Biden’s red inaugural gown by Reem Acra, the First Ladies’ ballots are in- their cedar lined “cabinets” are stocked with some of FIT’s best talent!
