My theme has always been “inside-out”. From the very beginning it’s how I’ve approached women- first at their most intimate, and then with the rest of their lives. I’ve always believed that clothing, lingerie, whatever, should be versatile. So Natori creates pieces that can be worn from the boudoir to the office; what I call “inside-out”.
It was so natural to expand the brand into footwear. Mules seemed to be in perfect symmetry with my inside-out premise. Natori was doing mules before Manolo! It was a sensation then- shoes in the lingerie department! Everything before had been frumpy so I brought fashion to slippers. But they were more than slippers, they could be worn as shoes too- they were comfortable yet glamorous.
Below are some of our old advertisements for Natori mules produced by the inspired creative director, Hubert Graph. We pushed the limits with an artistic flair. We were very provocative then and we continue to keep with that spirit today!

I had to discard a goreous pair of white phile embroidered mules because they eventually yellowed from being stored and I cannot find a store in the Atlanta area that carries a similar product. I just can’t wear my Natoria gowns and pj’s with terry cloth slip ons. Help!
