I’ve been involved with Women In Need for five years now, a charity that provides programs for homeless women and children to help them get back on their feet. It’s very important to me to support other women. As a business women myself, I believe all women should have the same opportunities – to better their lives and live up to their potential.
As an initiative to raise money for WIN, we’ve enlisted the creative talents of designers and celebrities. Each participant was given a plain cardboard to design any way they chose. The finished house will be displayed in the windows of Saks Fifth Avenue in NYC and auctioned off this week, proceeds will benefit WIN. The house I created reflects the East meets West aesthetic of Natori, a red lacquer wallpapered with our iconic Dynasty print (a print that we’ve used on our sleepwear for years and a personal favorite!).
I’m so happy that fellow designers like Isaac Mizrahi, Oscar de la Renta and Diane von Furstenberg alongside celebrities like Mary J. Blige and Jennifer Lopez, just to name a few, have come together to support this incredible organization.
