I am so honored to be part of an amazing new book by Karen Sands, titled “Visionaries have Wrinkles.” Below is a short excerpt. Pick up a copy here to read more.
“Karen Sands: Tell me about the philosophy behind your business. What moves your designs?
Josie Cruz Natori: I believe today that women, more than ever, are really feeling more confident. You want to express yourself, and so in fashion, you don’t feel like you have to dress a certain way anymore. When you really look at all the trends in lingerie, which is really crazy, like, who dresses like that? [Laughs] But it’s really sort of like a sociological thing, where women are just saying, I can be sexy twenty-four hours a day. It’s more an affirmation of their independence.”

dear Josie: I admire your success; we were in the same class at Manhattanville, I think. I own pieces of your lingerie ( I bought them at Iris Lingerie in Brooklyn and also at Daffy’s), but now I wonder can you make something comfortable in a stretch lace camisole, either cotton or silk? I have had surgery and need something that fits but is not too tight. I have always thought your designs were perfect for the smaller sized woman, of which group I am one.
Meanwhile, your garments are really luxe and beautiful. Thank you, Tildy Gottlieb
