Wish you could all see our Fall 2010 lingerie collections. We’re showing them this week to buyers and have gotten a fabulous response. Tibet was the inspiration- the jewel tones are especially striking throughout each collection. It is hard work but satisfying when the vision is realized. And I can’t help but brag- our Josie Natori Couture this season is the best ever! But I can’t rest because next week is fashion week when we’re presenting our ready-to-wear collection!
Take a look at some sketches from the Josie Natori Couture Fall 2010 season.

I was dining at Voltaire, my favorite Bistro in Paris, and ran into my friend Alber Elbaz! He has done wonders for Lanvin. What a good guy- so talented. I just love his designs and it was wonderful catching up with him!

What fun I had seeing the Dior show on my trip to Paris. It was held in the intimate Dior Salon. I was front row, admiring fantasy clothes for an opulent life…why not? Here are some pictures from my camera at the show.

It’s been a fun, quick four days in Paris. Maison & Objet was an amazing home decor show. I was on my feet for two days straight, totaling 18 hours, with our Natori home design team. The ideas were boundless for our upcoming foray into accent furniture, decorative and gift objects, lighting and rugs! The lingerie fabric show was pretty tame in comparison but we managed to find some beautiful new laces and trims. I can’t believe I have to be back in two weeks for the ready-to-wear fabric shows- not that I mind visiting Paris often!

I’m off to Paris on a whirlwind trip. We’re going to look at the latest innovations in textiles for lingerie at the Salon de la Lingerie. We’ll also be walking the massive home show, Maison et Objet, to get inspired in expanding our collection beyond bedding and textiles into home objects, accessories and accent furniture.
Then off to my favorite activity- going to the world famous Parisian flea market which I have mastered over the last 30 years! And finally, one couture show ….Dior. Can’t wait!

My Little Black Dress is freedom. Freedom to dress up. Freedom to dress down. Freedom to go anywhere, do anything.
Months ago Barbie asked me the question, “What does your little black dress mean to you?” Barbie asked fashion designers about their LBD’s in anticipation for the upcoming launch of their Barbie Basics – The Little Black Dress Collection. Now the line has launched and I’m honored to be quoted on the box of one of the 12 different Barbie Basics dolls. Barbie has always been on trend with the best of the fashion industry, so it’s no surprise that the Little Black Dresses she’s wearing are absolutely fabulous!

Last night I saw the most amazing concert at the Apollo Theater starring Alicia Keys! It was the first live stream recording of the concert for Billboard.com- anyone online could enjoy the concert for free in real time. The cast of other artists who also performed were awesome. Alicia is simply beautiful and amazingly talented. What a wonderful experience!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! It was a very special one for Ken and I – complete with our grandson’s first Christmas and watching him sit on Santa’s lap. What a treat! We then flew to Manila for a New Year celebration with my family in nearby Hong Kong. I’m very happy to ring in 2010. Happy New Year!

Everyone has their own unique traditions for the holidays. My family makes Christmas our own by combining customary Philippine traditions with American ones. As much as I love New York during Christmas with the white lights lining the streets and department store windows, I can’t imagine this time of year without some of my favorite foods from the Philippines! On Christmas Eve we have a Filipino feast- Lechon is a suckling pig, Lumpia are fresh spring rolls and Relleno is stuffed chicken with meat, just to name a few.
And our more American traditions- the smell of a fresh evergreen tree, hanging glass ornaments and white lights. I play the piano and sing Christmas carols- anything from O Holy Night to Jingle Bells. And being my grandson’s first Christmas, I can’t resist taking him to sit on Santa Clause’s lap. It’s something I used to love to do with my son Kenneth and now we can continue on the tradition with Cruz.
