Modern shapes and lines married with intricate detailing. Lace reinterpreted into dragon and animal patterns. Fabric manipulated with ruching, knot details, twisting and plays on texture.

Josie Natori announces the launch of her N Natori Lingerie collection, which reinvents the designer’s best selling silhouettes at affordable prices. Available beginning Fall 2010, the line will be closely edited to reflect the pinnacle of the Natori aesthetic and resemble a modern classic with a fashion twist. N Natori boasts unique prints, signature details of embroideries and knits with lace appliqués, accentuating the same modern luxury that mirrors Josie Natori’s elegant reflection of “East meets West.” The N Natori collection will be presented during February market for Fall 2010 deliveries to retailers.

Josie Natori explains, “Natori is my invitation into the world we are constantly recreating for women. My goal is to erase the boundaries that stand between the modern woman and the Natori brand. I have always believed where there is crisis there is opportunity! The last two years of the challenging economy have been an inspiration that has evolved to the N Natori collection- a way to provide the Natori aesthetic at an accessible price. I want all women to experience the femininity, sensuality and luxury of my collections.”

Opening price points for N Natori will range from $48-$120, with core prices in-between $68-$88. While Natori’s core retail is $150, N Natori provides a direct link to the Natori brand and capitalizes on its brand equity.

Josie Cruz Natori has always been ahead of her time. The success of her 33 years in business can be attributed to her timeless designs and deep understanding of the contemporary woman. The sophistication and elegance of Natori is constantly reinvented, intuitively unfolding into the evolution of the modern woman.

What a fun July 4th to be with family for a barbecue in Poundridge, NY, including my parents who flew in from Manila. I hope my husband Ken and I have the energy of my parents who are 86 (my mother) and 91 (my father). They are simply amazing! I only wish our son Ken, daughter-in-law Anika and grandson Cruzzie were with us too (they spent the 4th in Cape Cod with Anika’s family).
And what has become a family ritual during any family get-togethers is a trip to Costco- we braved the crowds to buy loads of food!

Except for the many bug bites I now have, the weekend was wonderful!

The streets of New York City have been invaded by…pianos! For the next two weeks, you can tickle the ivories all over the city at famous landmarks like Bryant Park, Herald Square and Lincoln Center. The pianos come from an art installation developed by British artist Luke Jerram. They’ve been touring the world for the past two years- first U.S. stop, New York City!

There are a total of 60 pianos on display but they won’t be around long, so go face the music and start playing…or simply listen along! As a concert pianist, we would love to see Josie Natori play- our location pick for Josie: the Central Park Bandshell.

If what you carry in your handbag says a lot about you, then the male equivalent is what he carries in his pockets. The Dossier Journal investigates the pockets of some prominent New York men and the things that define them- including our very own Ken Natori, Vice President of Finance for the Natori Company. What they found? 4 metro cards, a sonogram and pocket square (among other things). What does all that add up to for Ken? Well, we’re not quite sure, but we know he’ll never be stranded in New York City.

What an exhilarating few days in Dallas mingling with Neiman Marcus lingerie department managers from across the country. For over 10 years Neimans has been gathering their managers once a year to discuss the new collections and have some fun while they’re at it- what a great idea! I love to hear the feedback on our collections- what’s good and what needs improving; that’s how we learn. We held a steak dinner at Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse, an institution in Dallas, and there’s nowhere better to have a great meal- I’m still full! Business has been great so we toasted to it with a Natori drink made especially for the occasion- the Natori Twist!
