Natori, Japan Devastated by Natural Disaster; Natori Company Donates 10% of .com Sales to Red Cross Relief

The recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan continue to cause widespread devastation throughout the country. Cities and towns have been completely destroyed, including the city of Natori, where all that remains along the coast is a desolate field of thick mud. Humanitarian organizations are struggling to provide relief in the face of a nuclear crisis, water shortages, electricity blackouts, severe injuries, and emotional distress.

To support the cause, The Natori Company is donating 10% of all sales from Natori.com and JosiebyNatori.com to the Red Cross disaster relief effort through the end of April .

“We are incredibly saddened by the tremendous suffering in Japan caused by the earthquake and its aftereffects,” said Josie Natori, CEO and founder of The Natori Company. “Though we only share a name with the city of Natori, we are committed to providing as much support as we can to help the relief effort in Natori and throughout the country.”

The Natori Company encourages everyone to provide additional support to The Red Cross at Redcross.org.

Josie Natori Ready-To-Wear Fall 2010

Fall 2010 draws on inspirations from Tibet- refined silhouettes, a range of textures, traditional Tibetan tiger prints and saturated colors. Modern shapes and lines married with intricate detailing. Lace reinterpreted into dragon and animal patterns. Fabric manipulated with ruching, knot details, twisting and plays on texture. With an emphasis on knitwear, the collection focuses on the simplicity and sleek attitude of tonal dressing, head to toe Mallard Blue or Sandstone, highlighted with pops of signature Natori brights and artisan accents.

N Natori Lingerie Launch

Josie Natori announces the launch of her N Natori Lingerie collection, which reinvents the designer’s best selling silhouettes at affordable prices. Available beginning Fall 2010, the line will be closely edited to reflect the pinnacle of the Natori aesthetic and resemble a modern classic with a fashion twist. N Natori boasts unique prints, signature details of embroideries and knits with lace appliqués, accentuating the same modern luxury that mirrors Josie Natori’s elegant reflection of “East meets West.” The N Natori collection will be presented during February market for Fall 2010 deliveries to retailers.

Josie Natori explains, “Natori is my invitation into the world we are constantly recreating for women. My goal is to erase the boundaries that stand between the modern woman and the Natori brand. I have always believed where there is crisis there is opportunity! The last two years of the challenging economy have been an inspiration that has evolved to the N Natori collection- a way to provide the Natori aesthetic at an accessible price. I want all women to experience the femininity, sensuality and luxury of my collections.”

Opening price points for N Natori will range from $48-$120, with core prices in-between $68-$88. While Natori’s core retail is $150, N Natori provides a direct link to the Natori brand and capitalizes on its brand equity.

Josie Cruz Natori has always been ahead of her time. The success of her 33 years in business can be attributed to her timeless designs and deep understanding of the contemporary woman. The sophistication and elegance of Natori is constantly reinvented, intuitively unfolding into the evolution of the modern woman.
